New Post: Restoring the SampleData into SQL Server Express 2012

I want to thank you for all the helpful information available with this project. My problem is:

I am using SQL Server Express 2012 and after I restore the SampleData into database, I cannot connect this to the maps.
Checking for the connection, I got this message: "This connection cannot be tested because the specified database does not exist or is not visible to the specified user"

I will appreciate any help.

Not sure if this already does this or not but supporting advance shapes such as Polygon with holes, MultiPolygons, MultiLinestring, & Geometry/Geography collections would be good. I wrote this article that supports some of these complex shapes:http://rbrundritt.wordpress.com/2011/06/10/advance-shapes-in-bing-maps-v7/ Feel free to use this code in this project. If you are interested I'd be up for helping integrate this into this project.

Hi,

I always getting errors about

Microsoft JScript runtime error: Object doesn't support this property or method:

"#CodePage").dialog("close");

$panel.dialog({ ...etc.

and on around 10 other jquery fields. I looked in my header, and it is exactly the same like the online version. I tried several browsers (firefox,ie,chrome) same thing.

Does anybody know why this happens? Could it be, because the database didn't load some stuff?

Thanks for the email regarding my issue above. I had SQL 2008 R2 (Express) installed ... well, at least I thought I did. You were absolutely right, only the Management Studio was R2. So a quick update of SQL 2008 Express to R2 and everything works smoothly now.

We have not yet attempted to upgrade from MVC2 to MVC3. It will happen. Will this project be upgraded? If so, any timeline?

We have SQL 2008 R2 Management Studio and I'm getting the following when trying to restore from the backup:

TITLE: Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio
Restore failed for Server 'SEANKS\SQLEXPRESS'. (Microsoft.SqlServer.SmoExtended)
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
System.Data.SqlClient.SqlError: The database was backed up on a server running version 10.50.1600. That version is incompatible with this server, which is running version 10.00.4000. Either restore the database on a server that supports the backup, or use a backup that is compatible with this server. (Microsoft.SqlServer.Smo)

Can we not test this solution with SQLEXPRESS?

FYI the Microsoft.WindowsAzure.ServiceRuntime reference is missing from the included bin directory. I had to install the Windows Azure SDK in order for the DataConDemo solution to build and work.

When I get a sec Ill try and script the database out rather than a backup, although it may take a long long while to run

First, thanks for putting this great sample together but is it possible to provide either a SQL 2K8 (non-R2) or a 2005 sample database?

Would be greatly appreciated.
